I'm also a sucker for the underdog in any event, especially a queer underdog with a good story to tell. I'm fascinated by the serialized novels popping up here and there across substack, and I'm not entirely sold on the method, but it's an interesting way to build a fan-base as a writer. Publishing models are changing, and readers will guide us in the right direction.
